And just a few days ago, a 14-year-old girl was found dead in an Afghan man’s apartment in Simmering, apparently after abusing prescription drugs and alcohol. She is said to have previously had consensual sex with the 26-year-old. And then there are the repeated pro-Palestinian demonstrations, which have been repeatedly advertised in recent months. The population is alarmed.
Videos show IS supporters in the center of Vienna
And now the ‘Krone’ has received videos directly from Vienna from suspected IS supporters and sympathizers. These show several young men in the center of Vienna and at the Wurstelprater. Propaganda songs sound in the background and crazy Islamic fantasies are shown. You see pictures of IS fighters saying: “By Allah. “Islam is better than anything else in the world” it is written, or even little girls are shown completely veiled. Moreover, the protagonists probably have a distorted view of female love.
But it’s not just the ideas themselves that are scary. The access numbers on the TikTok profile also allow dramatic conclusions. Some videos have been viewed more than 100,000 times.
Action against Islamism
It is no wonder that more and more parties are calling for tougher action against these groups after recent events. Viennese FPÖ leader Dominik Nepp is convinced: “We need immediate action against Islamism and a ban on political Islam.”
“Surveys are ongoing”
The police have also been alerted. The “Crown” forwarded the documents to the responsible authorities for investigation. When asked, it is briefly stated: “The content was already known to the State Office for State Security and Combating Extremism. Investigations are ongoing.” The current status of the investigation is being kept quiet.
Islamic influencers on the rise
What is certain is that this is not an isolated case. The Political Islam Documentation Center (DPI) is also aware of the problem. A spokesperson for “Krone” said: “The ideology of Islamist influencers has become increasingly visible beyond social media channels since the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a means to reach as many people as possible with extremist messages.”
