According to several sources, Cairo is suggesting a “large-scale” hostage exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, in addition to a several-week ceasefire.
A delegation from Egyptian intelligence arrives in Israel today in an attempt to revive stalled negotiations Cairo, Qatar and the United States to achieve one ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, as reported by Egyptian security sources.
These sources indicated that this trip is taking place as a result of Egyptian “attempts” to reach a ceasefire and free all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
Likewise, they pointed out that Cairo has proposed a large-scale hostage situation for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons in addition to a ceasefire lasting several weeks, a proposal that the Egyptian mediation team conveyed to Hamas before informing Tel Aviv.
In addition to the exchange of prisoners and hostages, the Egyptian ceasefire proposal calls for Israeli forces to withdraw from several points in the Gaza Strip during the ceasefire to enable the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes in northern Gaza, something Israel has previously rejected.
According to sources, once the Egyptian delegation returns from Tel Aviv, it will meet with a Hamas delegation to study Israel’s response.

It is believed that this pier will be able to deliver 2 million meals per day to Gaza.
