A man in the German state of Bavaria was visited by a monkey on his terrace – and caught him with a banana. The animal is currently in good condition and is being cared for at the reptile sanctuary in Munich until the owner is found.
The resident of the city of Moosburg discovered the marmoset this weekend when he looked out the window, the reptile sanctuary in Munich announced on Monday. The man had the presence of mind to grab a banana and lure the monkey into a dog transport cage.
“Not neglected”
The animal was then taken to the shelter in Munich. “The monkey does not look neglected and in any case appears well cared for and well fed,” said the station’s specialist veterinarian. “We hope that the original owner will contact us as soon as possible.” The authorities have been informed so that the owner can be traced via the necessary species protection report.
