Major effect in the “invoicing affair” of the mayor of Vösendorf ÖVP: almost two months before the forced new elections, the public prosecutor stopped the investigation against Hannes Koza. He was charged with embezzlement, forgery and sedition
The Vienna public prosecutor’s office decided surprisingly quickly: all investigations against Mayor Hannes Koza have been stopped. The dispute started with a message against the Vienna Children’s Friends, after which the ÖVP mayor was investigated for sedition.
Lawyer invoice “corrected”
Koza ‘corrected’ the note from the lawyer of Children’s Friends and initially billed it to the municipal fire department. Although he later refunded the amount, a report was filed against him anonymously. Following which an investigation was initiated for embezzlement and forgery of documents. All three proceedings have now been discontinued, but Koza must pay more than 2,000 euros in diversion for manipulating the invoice – which, however, cannot legally be considered a guilty verdict.
“For me, this chapter is finally closed,” Koza explains. The ÖVP politician informs all households in Vösendorf about this decision of the public prosecutor’s office with a brochure. After all, as reported, early municipal elections will take place on May 5 in the city in the Mödling district.
