Trial in Innsbruck: woman hit the parking attendant’s leg with her car

Date:

An argument between a skier and a parking attendant reportedly escalated completely at the beginning of this year in the parking lot of a mountain railway in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern. On Monday, a 36-year-old had to appear at the Innsbruck Regional Court for coercion.

The incident took place on January 20 when the woman wanted to go skiing in the car with her two children. Because she had to wait too long and her son – who said she was autistic – “had to go to the toilet”, the 36-year-old decided to escape from the waiting column and drive towards the parking lot.

The defendant’s child panicked
On the way she was stopped by a parking attendant – the director of the mountain railway, who helped in the parking lot that day. Heated arguments ensued and her son eventually “completely panicked,” the woman explained to Judge Thomas Wallnöfer. She then drove “slowly” but “never hit the mountain railway employee with the car”. “I definitely didn’t hit him in the shin and he never landed on my hood,” she said.

Victim “hit the hood”
Instead, the Slovenian citizen blamed the alleged victim: “He hit the window of the car and the hood several times.” He also pointed out to her in an extremely unfriendly manner that she had to return home and was “no longer welcome”. here, the 36-year-old said.

The director interviewed as a witness described the situation very differently. “After our conversation she suddenly hit me on my shin from behind.” He then turned around “very surprised” and asked the woman to stop several times, but she continued to push the car “slowly”. When the woman then “gave a lot of gas”, he ended up on the hood.

The woman got away with a light sentence
Three other witnesses described the situation similarly. There were ‘discussions’ that ended with the director ‘ending up on the hood’. Wallnöfer ultimately followed these descriptions and the director’s description: “The descriptions are credible and correspond on essential points.” Nevertheless, he decided on a “lenient punishment”, especially because he understood the “very stressful situation” of the woman and she had not been blamed so far. The penalty: A semi-suspended fine of 720 euros. Not legally binding.
