Giuseppina Molinari, 103, has been banned from driving since she was stopped by police without a valid driver’s license and car insurance on Monday evening in the province of Ferrara, in the Emilia-Romagna region. Now the cheerful senior citizen has announced in a TV interview that she wants to stay mobile: she wants to buy a moped!

As reported, the woman, born in 1920, was driving her white Fiat Panda in the municipality of Bondeno around 1 a.m. and became disoriented. She drove through the same streets again and again. The alerted carabinieri stopped probably Italy’s oldest traffic offender and confiscated her car.

In an interview with television station TGR Emilia Romagna, Molinari regretted her overnight trip (see video below), but at the same time emphasized that public transport connections between her hometown of Vigarano Pieve and Bondeno, where her friends live, were not good. very well. That’s why she now wants to buy a moped.

But for this she needs a driver’s license or moped license. Italian law stipulates that people aged 80 and over must undergo a medical examination every two years to be declared fit to drive. It is not known whether Molinari has such a certificate.
