The resident of an apartment building in Innsbruck was lucky on Tuesday evening: the 59-year-old had forgotten a tea towel on the stove, causing it to burn. The fire brigade found two people in the smoke-filled apartment.
The professional fire brigade was called to the action around 6:30 p.m. A neighbor noticed a burning smell in the stairwell. In the apartment in question, a tea towel that the resident, a 59-year-old local resident, had left on the stove, had caught fire.
The fire went out on its own
Fortunately, when emergency services arrived at the apartment complex, the fire had already gone out on its own. However, the apartment was full of smoke and had to be ventilated by the fire brigade.
Two persons present examined for smoke inhalation
The emergency services also found a man and a woman (25 and 23 years old) in the apartment. The rescue team examined the two local residents because they suspected smoke poisoning, but could give full confidence: both were unharmed.
