Hasselhoff’s “Baywatch” swimming trunks are going to the museum

Date:

The series “Baywatch” is one of the cult series of the 1990s, was considered the most successful television series in the world and was broadcast in 144 countries. “Knight Rider” (1982-1986) David Hasselhoff eventually achieved worldwide fame in 1991 through his participation as lifeguard Mitch Buchannon.

The original swimming trunks of actor David Hasselhoff from the television series ‘Baywatch’ will soon hang in a German museum.

The BikiniART Museum in Bad Rappenau near Heilbronn bought the iconic piece of fabric at an auction in Dallas (US) for the equivalent of just under 2,750 euros (3,000 dollars).

“David Hasselhoff was one of the guarantees of success for the cult series and is located next to exhibitions of major Hollywood icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Amy Winehouse and Brigitte Bardot in our museum,” says Preißer.

Pamela Anderson’s swimsuit was significantly more expensive
The museum already has a world-famous “Baywatch” swimsuit, worn by actress Pamela Anderson, in which she repeatedly sprinted across the beach and dove into the water for the camera. But the museum had to fork over significantly more money: The swimsuit cost $27,500 about a year ago.

Hoserl can be admired from July
The Hasselhoff swimsuit and the Anderson swimsuit will be exhibited for the first time in a special exhibition in Bad Rappenau from July. The museum, which opened three years ago, says it displays 400 swimsuits from 1870.
