The two women standing on the road were hit by the next car and seriously injured. The 58-year-old from the Steyr-Land district had earlier stopped in her car to pick up a 52-year-old Ukrainian woman, also from Steyr-Land, who was driving there. At the time of the crash, the two women were loading the 52-year-old’s bags into the trunk of the car, police said.
Another helpful person
When the two of them went to the back of the 58-year-old’s car on Eisenstrasse in the Garsten municipality to load the bags, a driver behind him also stopped his car and offered to help. After the two women said no, the man wanted to go back to his car.
Driver overlooked women
At that moment another car passed by. The 50-year-old driver from the Steyr-Land district overlooked the women on the road and hit them both. She then crashed into the back of the 58-year-old’s car.
The two women were seriously injured and taken to the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen clinic in Steyr.
