Within minutes, two holiday cars from Hamburg crashed in Tyrol on Saturday afternoon. In Hochfügen in the Zillertal (Schwaz district), a driver (48) drove his car off the road, out of the valley, and fell into the forest. Shortly afterwards, a German car fell over the dike in Eben am Achensee (also in the Schwaz district) and got stuck on a tree.
Around 3:30 p.m., a 48-year-old father, for unknown reasons, drove his car, in which his two children (12 and 15 years old) were also traveling, off the road in Hochfügen and fell into the adjacent forest. All occupants were able to free themselves and climb back onto the street. As a precaution, they were taken to the hospital in Schwaz with minor injuries.
Germans escaped in horror
A compatriot of the 48-year-old, also from Hamburg, then crashed his car from the B181 over the dike towards the Achenseebahn track in Eben am Achensee around 3.45 pm and became stuck on a tree. The two occupants, a man and a woman, escaped in shock and the car was severely damaged.
