He claims he didn’t grab her from behind on her doorstep, wrestle her to the ground, or even try to rape her. “I was drunk and needed directions. She was young and beautiful. So I wanted to make friends with her. I was a little rough because I drank alcohol.” When he tried to hug her, she allegedly stabbed him for no reason. Because the victim did not sit still during the attack: a knife, which she always had in her pocket for protection, saved her.
Rapist took iPad away
“She is a very brave woman!”, the public prosecutor describes the 22-year-old. But even stitches in the thigh and arm couldn’t scare the 24-year-old attacker away. Only a neighbor’s phone calls did. But that’s not all: the perpetrator grabbed her handbag and ran away. They were found again – but without an iPad.
“She almost killed me!”
But he didn’t want to steal it: “I just wanted to take something so I know who she is to report her. She almost killed me!” Judge Stefan Apostol chided him: “That’s called self-defense! The victim could have killed you too.” The lawyer could only ask for a mild ruling, without success: five years in prison.The verdict is not final.
