There is a lot of discussion and debate going on every day on the krone.at forum. In our new Reader Debate section, we want to highlight special comments and ask the community for their opinion on an exciting aspect. Today is about the successful integration of refugees and its causes. Where do you think change is needed?
Successful integration
The “Krone” spoke to people who came to the country as refugees.
Ahmed fled to Austria more than twenty years ago at the age of fifteen with his parents, who come from Iran and Iraq. For him, the first step towards integration is the language, but connecting with the local population is also essential.
Abbas Alsaadi, who came from Iraq in 2009, also learned the German language and Austrian dialect to integrate into society and the labor market. Like Ahmed, he now works as a social advisor.
Work and volunteering
There is an ongoing debate on the “Krone” forum about the (non-)functional integration of refugees. In particular, the increasing number of violent crimes shows that there are currently major problems in this area.
Kroneleser689 emphasizes that, based on the positive examples mentioned, it is possible to successfully integrate as a refugee and become part of society through work and voluntary commitment.
What do you think is necessary for people with a migration background to integrate successfully? Where does something need to change to promote integration? Share your thoughts and views on the topic with us in the comments!
