The police in Graz this week engaged in an unusual shoplifting: a 46-year-old Romanian apparently could not resist the “tender temptation” and stole 29 bars of chocolate from a supermarket. He wore specially prepared underwear. He was reported free.
Theft is theft, but in this case the police officers should have smiled: On Wednesday, the officers were called for a shoplifting in the Mariatrost district of Graz. A supermarket employee had spotted a suspect.
Prepared outfit for shoplifting
Not far from the store, police found a man matching the description. During a search they also found what they were looking for: the man had 29 pieces of chocolate bars of 300 grams each. Particularly curious: the Romanian registered in Switzerland had kept his sweet booty in a tight-fitting body with straps. He probably prepared this unusual piece of clothing especially for shoplifting and wore it under his waistcoat.
During the interrogation, the 46-year-old confessed. The value of his loot, made from 100 percent alpine milk, was almost 110 euros. After taking photos and fingerprints, the man was released.
