In January 1980, Barbara Tucker, a 19-year-old college student, was kidnapped, raped, and murdered outside Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. Now her killer has been caught – thanks to his hair color and a piece of chewing gum.
Barbara’s body was not found until the next day, the perpetrator was long gone and there were no witnesses to the crime.
But after 44 years, Robert P. was arrested at the age of 60 and convicted of Tucker’s murder. A piece of chewing gum he spit out at the crime scene became his undoing.
In addition, 21 years after the crime, hair was seized that could be traced back to Robert P.. P. was convicted of murder on March 15. The verdict is still pending.
