On Saturday afternoon, a 35-year-old was working on a forest road in Gamsgraben with firewood when he suddenly came too far back while reversing. The ground gave way and the tractor fell backwards into a steep promontory.
The tractor overturned several times and after about 50 meters the 35-year-old was thrown from the driver’s cab. While the man remained seriously injured, the tractor fell a further 30 meters and landed in a ditch with total damage to the roof.
The emergency services (fire brigade, mountain rescue and rescue helicopter) were needed to rescue the injured person from the impassable terrain. The man was rescued with a rope and flown to the LKH Graz.
