On Friday afternoon there is a children’s book reading with the Viennese drag queen Candy Licious in the Mariahilf library on Gumpendorferstraße. That would probably go against the grain of a group of right-wing extremists and wall the entrance area overnight.
The Vienna police were immediately alerted in the morning. Shortly afterwards, the concrete entrance was removed by a demolition company so that the children’s book reading can take place as planned. In an initial reaction, Bernhard Ledinski, aka Candy Licious, was concerned about the “Krone”.
The dazzling artist will read this afternoon from a total of three different children’s books, especially for small library visitors, but also for adults.
