52.2% of applicants are from Bizkaia, 33.7% from Gipuzkoa and 14.1% from Araba. The Basque government’s Emantzipa aid is aimed at promoting the emancipation of people between the ages of 25 and 29.
A total of 4,371 young people between 25 and 29 years old In just over a month, they applied for support from the Basque government’s Emantzipa program, which aims to promote the emancipation of youth with a direct contribution of 300 euros per month for up to two years.
During the press conference after the Government Council, the Secretary General of Social Transition and Agenda 2030, Jonan Fernandez, has taken stock of this program that started on February 21. Of the total applications, 52.2% correspond to residents of Bizkaia, 33.7% to Gipuzkoans and 14.1% to people from Alava. 60.9% of the applications come from women and 39.1% are men.
The set of submitted applications shows that 71.9% of applicants have emancipated themselves or will do so on a rental basis, and the remaining 28.1% do so in a purchased home.
Emantzipa is compatible with other benefits, but 60.9% of young applicants receive no other assistance to further their emancipation. Of those who receive other aid, 47.5% are also beneficiaries of the Gaztelagun program, explained Fernández, who in turn emphasized that “the response obtained is very positive and corresponds to the predictions made.”
According to this data, applicants have an average income of 19,000 euros.
