Sometimes robbers make the job of the police all too easy. As in Welsh: Here a Croat lost his debit card in an attack on an Iraqi and was quickly found. Then he also betrayed his accomplices…
A 29-year-old Iraqi citizen from Wels reported to police that he had been hit by three unidentified men around 2:40 a.m. in Schmidtgasse. While he was on the ground, he was kicked and the perpetrators demanded all the money and belongings he had with him. One of the perpetrators then stole the money from his wallet.
On the basis of a debit card found at the crime scene, the victim was able to clearly identify one of the perpetrators. It was a 25-year-old Croat from Wels.
When he was arrested, he betrayed his accomplices. As a result, a 28-year-old compatriot was also arrested. Both were arrested. The third perpetrator, a 23-year-old Croat, also from Wels, was generally reported. Some of the perpetrators confessed.
