A serious fire occurred in Reisseck in Carinthia on Good Friday. A mother and her four-year-old child were in the home and alerted emergency services.
In the early hours of Friday morning around 4:35 a.m., the 33-year-old homeowner noticed the children’s room was on fire. She and her four-year-old daughter were in another room together at the time of the fire. From there they immediately alerted the fire brigade and waited for the emergency services.

They were able to quickly get the flames under control. The mother and her child were admitted to the BKH Lienz with suspected smoke poisoning. Researchers assume a technical defect. The exact cause of the fire is still being determined.
