Anyone who fancy a quick pizza in Mattighofen at Easter may have a problem. Because the Bistrobox fell victim to a speeder on Holy Saturday. It’s hard to imagine what could have happened if someone had been hungry early in the morning and wanted to buy something here.
Around 7 a.m., a 32-year-old motorist from Pram drove through the city at high speed – witnesses later said he apparently did not obey the speed limit. Ultimately, he lost control of his Audi and raced straight through a parking lot on a left turn. There he rammed a parked car and the force of the impact sent both cars flying into the self-service store.
Speeder seriously injured
Fortunately, there were no customers present at the time, otherwise the accident would have been even worse. The 32-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance; the cars and the bistro were badly damaged.
