A drug dealer in Vienna wanted for trafficking crystal meth is said to have repeatedly assaulted his 24-year-old partner, including breaking two fingers. According to police spokesman Markus Dittrich, officers from the Tempelgasse police station arrested him early on Holy Saturday evening in Leopoldstadt after learning of his whereabouts.
The 37-year-old was wanted on an arrest warrant due to his trading activities. Suspicions arose that he had repeatedly abused the 24-year-old, injured her and also damaged objects. An entry and approach ban was also issued against him.
Periodos caught in a friend’s apartment
The arrest ultimately took place in an acquaintance’s apartment with the help of the Vienna Emergency Service (WEGA), because the 37-year-old was already known for his resistance to state authority. However, the police found him motionless because he was apparently heavily addicted to drugs. He received emergency medical care and was taken to a hospital.
