Lottery fever again in the US: the PowerBall lottery jackpot has grown to a billion euros. The next chance to win the jackpot is on Wednesday evening (local time, Thursday evening CET). Austrians can also participate in the draw.
Since New Year’s Day, no player has checked the correct numbers in the PowerBall lottery. After 38 failed attempts, the total now stands at one billion euros.
World record in November 2022
The game is played according to the principle of 5 to 69 plus 1 to 26. But this also means that the chance of winning the main prize is small. It is 1 in 292.2 million. Whoever wins the five regular lottery numbers and the extra number ‘Powerball’ will be in first place with at least 20 million dollars (approx. 18 million euros). There is no jackpot maximum. The PowerBall also managed to set the world record of all lotteries (in November 2022). The next draw will take place on Wednesday evening in the US (so at 3am our time).
The largest PowerBall prize to date was paid out in November 2022. A lucky man from California won more than $2 billion. It was a record; Previously there were 41 draws in a row without a main prize.
