Fire alarm early Tuesday evening in Tiroler Zirl (Innsbruck-Land district): A fire broke out in an unoccupied house and spread quickly. Because the site was not directly accessible, several fire lines had to be installed. The police have launched an investigation to clarify the cause of the fire.

The fire spread quickly

The emergency services were alerted via a pager around 5:45 p.m. “In a demolished building at the end of Franz-Plattner-Straße, a fire broke out on the first floor and quickly spread to the attic,” the Zirl fire brigade said.
As direct vehicular access to the site was not possible due to the lack of a bridge, a supply line was constructed from the other side of the stream. “With a total of three extinguishing lines, the fire was ultimately extinguished within a very short time,” the fire brigade continues.
“Fire out” after 2 hours, night check
After several checks with the thermal imaging camera, the operation was finally completed after approximately two hours. “A team carried out another check during the night, but it turned out to be nothing special.”
The police started an investigation
Fortunately, no one was injured. The cause of the fire is currently unclear. As the police explained on Wednesday at the request of “Krone”, a technical cause can almost be ruled out according to the current state of affairs. The fire brigade also said that the electricity had been turned off and the gas had been turned off. It is determined in all directions.
The abandoned houses in this area are reportedly repeatedly visited by young people – and also by vandals.
