Animal rights activists and volunteers in Austria work for animal protection every day. Conversely, our furry friends also prove to be everyday heroes time and time again. For more than ten years, Fressnapf has been drawing attention to these special achievements with the ‘Animal Involved’ award and rewarding their efforts with generous prize money. Dedicated projects and animal heroes can be nominated now until May 5. You can read how to register here.
Throughout Austria, a large number of animal protection organizations, small clubs and volunteers care for abandoned animals, care for sick four-legged friends and support people with disabilities with the help of therapy animals.
In 2024, Fressnapf will again award the ‘Animal Involved’ prize for special animal protection projects and heroic animal acts. Involved people and organizations are invited until May 5 to register with their animal protection projects. A total of 45,000 euros in prize money and a year’s supply of food can be won.

Big awards gala on kroneTV
The festive awards ceremony with all the winners of the “Animal Welfare Commitment of the Year” and the “Pet of the Year” from the federal states will be broadcast on kroneTV around this year’s World Animal Welfare Day, on October 4.
Maggie Entenfellner: “Those who stand up for weaker people, achieve great things and save lives are often silent, even though their actions speak for themselves. I am all the more grateful that Fressnapf also examines who does good for animals and people during a major awards ceremony. Far too rarely do we show our gratitude to people who have dedicated their lives to protecting animals. Let’s change that together with Fressnapf! I look forward to receiving numerous entries!”
