A rather unusual accident took place in Prater, Vienna, on Sunday. The famous Liliput Railway suddenly derailed during a journey.
The popular locomotive was significantly off track when it derailed around 11:15 am. An attentive “Krone” reader reporter observed the accident and captured it with photos.

“We saw the Liliputbahn pass us shortly before. The people all got out and moved on.” The photos show how a crane brings the crashed Lilliputbahn back onto the track. According to eyewitnesses, police and rescue services were not warned.
Cause still unclear
According to eyewitnesses, the passengers got out of the carriages under their own power. It is still unclear how the accident could have happened. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
