Serious moped accident on Sunday afternoon in the Tyrolean Absam (Innsbruck-Land district): A 15-year-old crashed his moped head-on into an oncoming car. He and his passenger (16) were injured, some seriously.
The teenager was riding his moped east along Dorfstrasse on Sunday shortly after 4 p.m. His 16-year-old companion was riding in the passenger seat. At the intersection with Nuelweg, the 15-year-old ended up on the edge of the sidewalk, after which he lost control of the moped. As a result, he collided head-on with an oncoming car driven by a 43-year-old local man.
Young people taken to hospital
The man had already stopped the car, but the moped rider was still seriously injured in the accident. He – like his slightly injured passenger – was taken to the hospital in Hall in Tirol.
