The 16-year-old Viennese, who climbed onto a railway site with four other young people in a daring act at the end of March, has now died in hospital from his serious burns.
The four young people boarded a parked train in Penzing on March 25. The 16-year-old slipped and fell into the power line. The injured man was immediately flown to a hospital by rescue helicopter and his life was in danger for a long time.
Then on Wednesday the sad news: The young man died a few days ago in the general hospital from his serious injuries.
“Strictly prohibited and life-threatening”
Shortly after the tragic incident, the ÖBB pointed out that one accident was “one too many,” but that unauthorized access to the facilities was “strictly prohibited and life-threatening.”
