Psychologist Strutz: – Threats to run amok arise from youthful frustration

Date:

Are half-children’s threats to shoot actually a cry for help because they cannot deal with their aggression? At least this is the opinion of the Wilheringer psychologist and psychotherapist Barnabas Strutz, who commented on the current case in the Mühlviertel.

The readers of “Krone” were the first to know: a 13-year-old is suspected – as we reported – of threatening to commit murder in a chat on TikTok.

Investigations are still ongoing
The investigation is still ongoing, but it is suspected that the young person may have set up an adult from Linz’s TikTok account on his mobile phone and then used it himself without permission.

Aggressive friendlier
But why are half-children at risk of running away? After all, this was the third time this year in Upper Austria, and similar police operations also took place in Steyr and Garsten.

Psychologist Barnabas Strutz on the motivation of the perpetrators: “On the one hand, every young person today has a mobile phone and therefore full access to all social media, but on the other hand, many in this age group have a lot of frustration – and this can easily be reduced by using a smartphone. But police must take every threat seriously. If children become so aggressive, take them seriously and provide therapy!”
