Discussions in the EU Parliament about an outdoor smoking ban are currently causing anger. The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) has a clear opinion on this: a ban would be important and effective. But the citizens and users of our forum see this as an infringement of our freedom.
The DKFZ would be in favor of smoking no longer being seen as “normal”. Children and young people in particular would benefit from a smoking ban outdoors. However, the majority of our users have a different opinion.
“Smoking is simply not the norm!”
In addition to the loud criticism, there are also other voices that agree with the EU and the DKFZ. Smoking is not normal and also bothers non-smokers in the area. An ordinance could finally curb harassment.
“Enough bans!”
The biggest criticism concerns the EU itself. Our readers are fed up with ban policies and are demanding that more important issues be addressed. In times of political unrest, war and rising prices, topics such as a smoking ban are inappropriate.
What do you think of a smoking ban outdoors? What do you think of the EU’s handling of bans? Which topics would be more important? We look forward to further reports and opinions in the comments below!
