In neighboring Bad Reichenhall (Bavaria), police officers were surprised late on Friday evening. Officers caught two burglars red-handed. Worth noting: the young men were wearing their own underwear on their heads during the burglary.
A witness reported to the police on Friday evening around 10:30 PM that a shop at the train station had just been broken into. The caller saw the perpetrators running away and described the direction in which they fled.
Police officers were near the crime scene at the time. They could immediately start looking for the fleeing perpetrators. The perpetrators were then quickly arrested after a brief escape through private property and gardens. During the subsequent search, most of the loot was found.
Underpants on the head, handed over to the parents
The suspects were an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old from the Berchtesgadener Land. It was particularly bizarre that the two perpetrators had put their own underwear over their heads as a mask during the crime.
The material damage caused is probably in the mid-four figures: the perpetrators broke into the store with brute force through a sliding glass door. One of the perpetrators had a knife with him during the crime, but according to the current state of the investigation, he did not use it. The perpetrators are now being investigated for a “particularly serious case of theft with weapons”.
After the case was settled, the 17-year-old was handed over to his parents in the morning hours. The 18-year-old was brought before the investigating judge on Saturday at the request of the Public Prosecution Service. An arrest warrant was issued.
