Alarm on Monday evening in the center of Vienna at Michaelerplatz: several firefighters had to arrive to rescue a man from the excavation site of the Roman settlement. The passerby had fallen there before.
The emergency services had to immediately prepare technical rescue to pull the victim from the excavation site, the professional fire brigade reported to the Crown on Monday evening.

Fortunately, the rescue operation was completed quickly; after about 20 minutes the passerby was freed from the historic excavation site on Michaelerplatz. According to rescuers, the man is doing well. He suffered no injuries and was also responsive.
Despite the rainy weather, numerous spectators gathered next to the Hofburg in the evening to watch the operation. It is unclear why the man fell at the excavation site. Fortunately, he was unharmed.
