A 58-year-old from the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district fell from a ladder at a steel factory in Sankt Peter-Freienstein (Leoben district) on Tuesday afternoon. The worker had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries
Around noon, the 58-year-old wanted to climb onto the roof of a transformer container with a ladder. For reasons that are still unclear, the worker fell from a height of about three meters from the ladder, first onto a banister and then onto the ground. There were no direct witnesses to the accident. Colleagues could only notice that the 58-year-old hit the ground. They provided first aid and started the rescue chain.
The Red Cross and an emergency doctor provided the 58-year-old with initial medical care. He was flown by the C12 rescue helicopter to UKH Graz with serious injuries. Negligence of third parties could not be sued.
