Murder alert in Vienna-Margareten: A body was discovered in a cellar on Tuesday. Construction workers carrying out renovation work in an apartment building were spotted carrying a large plastic bag while digging. According to the first information, the body would have been inside.
The workers heard a strong, pungent odor coming from the bag in the basement. Emergency services were immediately alerted and a short time later they found the badly decomposed body stuffed into the plastic bag.

The identity of the person has not yet been determined. “The body was seized and taken to forensic medicine for an autopsy,” police spokeswoman Julia Schick said Wednesday.
