The family of former US President John F. Kennedy is supporting Joe Biden in the election campaign. Public support is not a given, as Robert F. Kennedy is also in the race as an independent candidate.
Because he spreads conspiracy myths and has contact with right-wing extremist politicians, some members of the Kennedy clan had already distanced themselves from him (see video above). As a non-party, he also has no chance in the battle for the White House. Independent candidates are more likely to challenge those from the Republican and Democratic parties for a share of the vote.
This could also be the case in the upcoming presidential elections in November. Kennedy is the former president’s cousin, and experts say his candidacy could be more damaging to Biden than Republican Donald Trump.
In any case, he receives no support from the majority of his family. “We want to make it clear that the best path for America is to re-elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for another four years,” his sister Kerry Kennedy said on Thursday. She was at a Biden campaign event in Philadelphia.
