Dramatic scenes unfolded in a forest near Frauenstein in Carinthia on Tuesday. There is great sadness and the painful question why among family and friends: an 18-year-old was killed by a tree.
Tree falls! On Tuesday, however, he did not fall to the ground between other trees in Frauenstein, but rather a forestry worker from the Klagenfurt-Land district. Colleagues immediately alerted the rescue workers. Emergency services from the Pisweg fire brigade were able to free the 18-year-old, who was trapped. But despite resuscitation, he succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.
The FF Kraig and Meiselding were also in action and the sirens wailed shortly before 10:00. The police, the Red Cross, the mountain rescue service and the ARA air rescue team from Fresach were also alerted.
