This weekend a show of strength took place on the street between a 57-year-old and his son (25). When the traffic light in the Diemlach district near Kapfenberg turned green, both drivers started a race with loudly spinning tires.
Police officers from the state traffic department, who were in a civilian vehicle, spotted the two speedsters around 6:30 p.m. and immediately gave chase. The two drivers reached a speed of 118 km/h.
Driver’s licenses confiscated and vehicles seized
Both drivers were arrested by the police a short time later. Those affected showed no understanding. According to the company, it was a “performance check after an engine repair”.
The driving licenses of father and son were temporarily confiscated. The vehicles of the two drivers were seized by the responsible district authority of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag.
