The economy of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) grew by 0.5% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the previous quarter and with regard to the first quarter of 2023 the increase is 1.6%, according to data published on Tuesday by the Basque Statistical Institute Eustat.
Current economic information available at the time of preparing this Outlook indicates that the annual growth observed in the BAC economy this first quarter of the year is mainly based on the evolution of the service sector.
He employment opportunitiesmeasured in full-time equivalents, also increased by 2024 in the first quarter of 2024 0.5% compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the estimated growth is 2.0%.
On 7 June, Eustat will publish the disaggregated estimates of GDP and employment in its quarterly accounts for the first quarter of 2024, after integrating current economic information that was not available at the time of preparing this outlook.
