Both men injured – violence against partners: two women arrested in Vienna

There were two arrests and charges in Vienna on Monday: In Döbling, a woman (29) allegedly injured her boyfriend with a pocket knife after he hit her head with his fist. In Josefstadt, a 49-year-old with a blood alcohol level of more than three per mille allegedly injured her partner in the back of the head.

The first emergency call was received by the police in Josefstadt around 5 p.m. A 49-year-old woman allegedly injured her partner in the back of the head. The 68-year-old victim then left the apartment to wait for officers outside the building. Police quickly banned the woman from entering and approaching the building. She was also asked to accompany the officers to the nearest police station.

However, the suspect failed in her subsequent escape attempt and was temporarily arrested. The woman was also given an alcohol test, which showed no less than 3.16 per mille!

Less than two hours later, the next operation took place in Döbling: officers discovered a woman with a torn T-shirt who had injured her face. When asked about the situation, the 29-year-old said her boyfriend hit her in the head several times with his fist due to an argument in the apartment. To defend herself, she allegedly wounded him in the neck with a pocket knife.

The murder weapon was found in the apartment and temporarily secured. The 33-year-old friend was arrested by police near a gas station. He had minor injuries to the neck.

The woman was temporarily arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and released on orders from the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office. The man was also reported on suspicion of bodily harm.
