In the Ulm Theater there should have been a dog on stage next to singer Maria Rosendorfsky. However, the veterinary office vetoed it because the operation was too sensitive due to its size. The four-legged friend is said to have been on stage twice for about ten to fifteen minutes.
During the first casting, the hairy candidates responded calmly to the singing, the Ulm Theater announced on Thursday. Nevertheless, animal welfare is placed above the staging idea. Three dogs, their owners, the singer and a representative of the veterinary office were present at the casting. In addition to the veterinary office, animal protection organization Peta had also expressed its concerns.
Scenes are rearranged
If animals are exhibited, they must be reported to the authorities for approval. The theater staff had already drawn up criteria such that the animal had to be an adult and healthy animal. The dog must also be used to stimuli such as sounds, indoor spaces, crowds and the like.
Since there was still no approval, the affected scenes are now being recast. The opera ‘Lessons in Love and Violence’ will be performed ten times in June and July.
