For most people, a white Christmas will probably only be in their dreams — because the chances of it are nil in state capitals, the Central Institute of Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) destroyed all hope on Wednesday. In the lowlands of Austria it is still locally white at the moment, but especially below 1000 meters above sea level, most of the snow will not last until Christmas.
