The twelve electric cars that caught fire in Lower Austria on Thursday morning were probably the victims of a fiery devil. The police now suspect arson.
The suspicion of arson was confirmed in a dozen electric cars that went up in flames on Thursday evening in Eibesbrunn in the municipality of Großebersdorf (Mistelbach district). The evidence suggests this, police spokesman Raimund Schwaigerlehner said Friday. When emergency services arrived, there was fire in two places. The state police of Lower Austria are investigating.
Five fire brigades in action
The fire brigade declared alarm level 3 shortly after midnight on Thursday after the alarm was raised on Gewerbestrasse in Eibesbrunn. In addition to the electric cars, another vehicle was also hit. No one was injured. Five fire brigades were involved in the extinguishing work.
