When a 23-year-old had to be treated in hospital for a stab wound, it turned out a short time later that the victim was an escaped prisoner.
The hospital staff had alerted the police because they suspected third party negligence. When questioned, the victim stated that there had been an argument between an unknown perpetrator and the 23-year-old in an apartment in Vienna-Meidling. He was allegedly attacked with a knife.
Unknown on the run
The police conducted a search of the apartment shortly afterwards and were able to trace traces of the suspect. The stranger is still a fugitive. As if that wasn’t enough, officers also determined that the victim was an escaped convict. After receiving medical care, he was returned to the detention center.
