The Russian army says it has bombed a train carrying Western weapons in eastern Ukraine. The incident is said to have occurred on Thursday. Railroad facilities in another region were also targeted.
On Thursday, Russian forces struck “Western weapons and military equipment” transported by train carrying rockets and artillery, the Defense Ministry in Moscow said. As reported, a new US military package for Ukraine was recently approved. Weapons would also come from Spain and Great Britain.
Control over multiple settlements
According to the British Ministry of Defense, eastern Ukraine, where the train was bombed, is currently one of the most important areas for Russian operations. “Although they suffered heavy losses, it is highly likely that Russian ground forces are able to attack Ukrainian positions in the area and have taken control of several small settlements,” the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army is said to have recently attacked the Russian border region of Kursk. Authorities said one person was killed. In addition, the houses of local residents were damaged. The information could not be independently verified.
