Incidents involving mysterious flying objects are on the rise in the US – leading to wild speculation. There is a debate on social media about whether it could be a possible alien invasion. The commander of the US Northern Command, Glen VanHerck, also drew attention with a statement: he cannot exclude that aliens are behind the mysterious flying objects.
The general was asked by a reporter if the Pentagon could rule out aliens being behind the ominous missiles. “I leave that to the intelligence and counterintelligence services to find out. I am not ruling out anything at the moment,” VanHerck explains on Sunday evening.
“If it’s a threat, I’ll shoot it“
The general also commands the North American air defense command Norad, which has tracked and shot down the most recently launched missiles. He also does not rule out such incidents: “Anything that approaches North America, if it is unknown, I will identify – and assess whether it is a threat. If it is a threat, I will shoot it,” said VanHerck. However, there are currently no other objects over US airspace: “That doesn’t mean there won’t be more in the future, but we don’t see anything right now.”
Within a few days, the US military had shot down four flying objects. A rocket was recently shot down over Lake Huron in Michigan.
