A 50-year-old sexually harassed a woman at a metro station in Vienna’s Ottakring district late Thursday afternoon. When her boyfriend intervened, the 50-year-old panicked: the Moroccan broke a glass bottle and tried to stab his opponent with it.
The incident took place around 5:45 p.m. on the forecourt of the Josefstädter Straße metro station. The victim was able to fend off the attack with the glass bottle with his hands, but was injured, just like the suspect himself.
The two men received emergency medical care from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service. The 50-year-old is in police custody and his interrogation has not yet been completed. The glass bottle was confiscated.
