Franco Foda led Sturm to their last championship title in 2011. The now Kosovo team boss in the big ‘Krone’ interview about the chances of his former club Sturm in the hot title fight with Salzburg, Austria’s European Championship chances and the possible departure of team boss Rangnick to Bayern.
“Kron”: The title fight is more exciting than it has been in a long time. Sturm goes into Sunday’s goal with a three-point lead. Does everything now speak in favor of your former club?
Franco Foda: There is a lot to be said for Sturm due to the table situation and the shape curve. Sunday will be a decisive match. If Sturm wins, they are champions for me. My former club plays very consistently and won the tough games against Rapid with confidence, while Salzburg is very unstable and gave up a five-point lead. To become champions, they absolutely must win on Sunday, although anything is possible for Sturm even if they lose.
