An employee of the parish church in Landeck has caught the thief in the act. When he fled on foot, the employee turned himself in to the police. The officers later caught the man, a 62-year-old Hungarian, in his car and searched him and the vehicle. They found several tools that the investigators say are typical of robberies and a large number of coins.

Suspect taken to prison
After further investigation, the Hungarian is now suspected of breaking into a church in Landeck and would also be responsible for two other robberies, one in Klösterle in Vorarlberg.

The suspect did not confess and was transferred to Innsbruck prison after consultation with the public prosecutor.
