Apartment uninhabitable – beer capsules should help families after the fire

But one of the fundraising campaigns is not like the others: the Trimmelkam volunteer fire brigade has called for the collection of beer capsules, with the proceeds going to the victims of the fire. “We have had these types of actions before. In these cases, the Hauser company always gives us good prices for the scrap,” says Martin Spannbrucker. The fire extinguisher hopes to contribute at least a few thousand euros in this way. During the last collection for the children of a mother who died young, no less than 20,000 euros was collected.

All belongings lost
“Five families with a maximum of seven members and two single residents lost everything in this fire,” said Deputy Mayor Nina Wolfgruber, who was able to arrange replacement housing for the victims with the help of the cooperative. “These are people who didn’t just stumble into the buttery side of life. Moreover, some were uninsured and literally lost everything they owned in the flames.”

There is a particular demand for school supplies
That is why we are now diligently raising money for those affected: the Catholic women’s movement, farmers’ women, the fire brigade youth and some companies are also doing their part with generous donations of money or goods to help. School supplies were in particularly high demand, as the fire victims included children and young people who are now returning to school.

Several people jumped out of the house in panic. A 10-year-old boy who jumped from a second-floor balcony has a splint on his leg but is recovering. It is currently unclear when and whether the house will ever be habitable again.
