A bailiff in Vienna-Alsergrund made a special discovery on Friday: a huge cannabis cultivation with 1,041 plants was found in an apartment there. The plants were already dried out and unusable. However, the perpetrators are still being sought.
The apartment on Liechtensteinstrasse should actually have been evacuated. But then the bailiff was surprised by the enormous, professionally landscaped plantation.
The police officers who intervened first immediately informed the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, which began the investigation.
The perpetrator is still on the run
A total of 1,041 cannabis plants were found, but they had already dried out. “The unknown perpetrators also bypassed the apartment’s electricity meter and installed temporary electricity lines in the apartment in order to operate the cannabis cultivation,” police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger said on Sunday.
The executive is investigating at full speed and there is still no trace of the perpetrators.
