Terrible accident on Monday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands: A 45-year-old worker was trapped between a truck and an asphalt cutting machine in Eben am Achensee. The man was seriously injured and had to be flown to the clinic in Innsbruck by emergency helicopter.
The serious accident happened around 9:15 am. While a 29-year-old local resident was reversing a truck near a construction site, the 45-year-old was working on the asphalt milling machine.
Workers hit by truck
“The Austrian was hit by the reversing truck and trapped between it and the machine,” a police spokesperson said when asked by “Krone”.
The 45-year-old was able to free himself. Another worker immediately provided first aid and started the rescue chain.
By helicopter to the clinic
“The worker suffered serious injuries to the right leg,” the spokesperson continued. After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the man was flown by emergency helicopter to the clinic in Innsbruck. In addition to the police, rescue and helicopter crew, the volunteer fire brigade of Eben am Achensee was also present.
